Learning to play
If you are interested in learning the bagpipes or drums – we can help. We encourage learners to join us and fully support novice musicians both young and old. Come sit in at one of our practice sessions. We welcome all ages and levels of ability. The more the merrier is our motto.
If you are already a bagpiper or drummer and would like to join us, we welcome you.
We are a very friendly, family oriented group and welcome newcomers to our little band. So come on out and bring your pipes to our next practice – let’s see what you got. But whatever you do, remember that at Ambulance Victoria Pipes and Drums, we are here to have fun, first and foremost. Second, know that we would love to include you in our fun. Come to play. Come to watch. Come to learn. Come to have fun.
Practice makes Perfect
If you want to get good at anything you need to practice. Bagpipes are no different. Practice them every day. Stick with it. There will be days that you want to put your chanter down, walk away and never look back – don’t do it. Don’t give up. If you stick with your lessons and commit yourself to learning the bagpipes or drums you will be so glad that you did. It will give you a sense of accomplishment and you will have an awesome new skill to show off.
Playing the Bagpipes
The bagpipe is a difficult instrument and like any instrument it is easiest to learn as a child or teen; however, a lot of adults have made a hobby of piping.
